Yokoyama Goju Black Sake
Iki Island, in Nagasaki Prefecture, is a small island in the Genkai Sea between Kyushu and South Korea. And Iki City is where Omoya Sake Brewery is located. Omoya Sake Brewery is a small brewery opened in 1924 by the first generation Yokoyama Kakuzo near the Indoji Port on the islandʼs southeast. Omoya Sake Brewery is a reimagining of a Sake brewery in Gounoura Town and a Shochu brewery in Ishida Town that has been making barley Shochu and Sake for about 500 years. Now, the fourth generation Yuzo Yokoyama has taken office. Yuzo and Taizo, his younger brother, play a central role in making Sake that fuses tradition with innovation.
